For a long time, Asians have been known as the minority in the US and many other countries. As the barriers are broken down in this connected global world, Asians are the majority. Note that we are not saying that we are better or worse than the rest of the world, but we have an identity so understanding this is important. As far as the logo, it is designed to mimic the Chinese “chops” or seals that is an age-old method to sign documents, art, and letters.
